Use your knowledge of spelling rules to help you with these tricky spellings.

  1. writing = write + drop the ‘e’ with -ing = writing

  2. because → -au- because letter pattern. be + cause = because

  3. having = have + drop the ‘e’ with -ing = having

  4. tomorrow = to + morrow (morrow is the old word for tomorrow/the following day. See tomorrow lesson.)

  5. studying = study + ing (keep the ‘e’ with -y)

  6. college see the e’s at the end - college. Be careful collage is a different word.
