KS1 = Key stage 1 from ages 5-7 tested at 7 (optional now) (1st grade)

KS2 = key stage 2 from ages 7-11 tested at 11 (5th grade)

The SAT English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Tests for England are rigorous and difficult. Therefore the kids need all the help they can get, especially with more explicit spelling instruction - not just spelling tests but lessons too!
